A Colorado native, Haley studied biology at the University of San Diego before testing if the west coast truly is the “best coast”. She moved eastward to Boston to investigate CAR-T cell therapy in ALK+ tumors in the Chiarle Lab at Boston Children’s Hospital. She is thrilled to return to San Diego to join the Kersten lab as a PhD student and use her immunotherapy experience to explore the immune interactions within the tumor microenvironment. Outside the lab, Haley is an outdoorsy activity enthusiast and enjoys reading and knitting when not spending time under the sun.
