Rob Wiesheu

Rob studied biology at LMU Munich in Germany before the Scottish Highlands beckoned him. He earned his PhD in tumor immunology in the lab of Prof. Seth Coffelt at the CRUK Scotland Institute in Glasgow, UK, where he focused on the diversity of anti-tumor gd T cells and their potential for adoptive cell therapy in genetically engineered mouse models of breast cancer. After learning how to engineer and modify human T cells for immunotherapy in the Majzner lab at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, he joined the Kersten lab to learn about immune cell interactions in the tumor microenvironment (TME) in order to explore strategies to modulate the TME with immunotherapy. Outside the lab, Rob enjoys traveling, spending time with friends, exploring new restaurants, photography and playing tennis.
